幕后制作
故事中充满了欢乐、幽默和伤感，充满了悬而未决的论点。从一只狗的观察角度去叙述故事这种形式是新奇独到的，因为这是一部没有旁白和会讲话动物的电影，因此拍摄任务变得异常艰巨。这部关于本吉的影片把“本吉”的概念提升到一个新的基准。先前的“本吉”电影在表达本吉的情感、反抗人类或者适应形势的过程中总是产生缺陷。这是本吉第一次与另一只狗合作出演并产生互动作用，与其合演的搭档是与本吉个性截然相反的小狗Lizard Tongue。本片没有好莱坞片中惯有的特效，紧张的节奏等等，导演坎普的宗旨是与众不同，这也是他和制作班底的制胜法宝。
